The purpose of this ministry is to grow the number of Christian fathers living in the home with their children. There are no solutions to our neighborhood problems that do not require that Christian men and fathers step up to their leadership responsibilities

Over ninety percent of the households in the neighborhood around Bethlehem Lutheran Church are headed by single women. Most of the households do not have a man in the house who is a positive role model for the children. The absence of the Christian fathers and husbands in these homes has spawned a host of problems that threaten to crush the dreams and aspirations of thousands of people living right around Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Important statistical trends are going the wrong way. Crime and violence are on the increase. The number of people who are chronically unemployed or underemployed is on the increase. The number of single women having babies is on the increase. The number of Christian fathers living in our neighborhood homes is on the decrease.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church must take the lead in addressing the problems of absent fathers and single mothers in our neighborhood.This is not an impossible task. God has gifted Bethlehem with the Holy Spirit, His Word, facilities, talents, and money. With the faith of a mustard seed we can do this.
